Can you state the core rules without opening notes?

Choose one recent unit from each class. If you can recognize the rule but cannot produce it, add retrieval practice. If you cannot explain why the cases differ, add synthesis.

Can you use your outline on a problem?

If the outline exists but you have never used it to answer a question, test it. A usable outline should help you locate doctrine, exceptions, and analytical steps quickly.

Do you know what your professors test?

Review old exams, sample questions, rubrics, and comments from class. Redirect time away from details that never enter the professor's analysis.

Are administrative tasks under control?

Calendar writing deadlines, registration tasks, career appointments, and organization commitments so academic work is not competing with forgotten logistics.

What should you stop doing?

Identify one low-value habit—over-briefing, excessive highlighting, rewriting notes without synthesis—and reduce it.
